On Sunday 26th August at 7pm Pocket D on the test server will once more play host to the latest round of Squished. Once more organised by PvP Stalwart Knight_Stalker this competition features teams of 2 squishy characters pitted against each other in a battle to claim the toughest squishy title.

In order to embrace i10 and its message of co-operation vs annihilation this 3rd instalment of Squished all teams must feature a hero and a villain who can hopefully put any hostilities aside until after the matches and fight side by side.

So to find out more and perhaps win a place alongside such previous champions as Max Khaos and Blue Freezer or Dragons Embrace and Rescuer see the Freshly Squished thread on the forums to find out the rules and which AT’s are allowed. Then enter your team via the Sign Up thread or to find a team mate check the Find a Team Mate thread.

Last Tuesday not only saw the roll-out of the next Issue #10 game patch but also the return of the Rikti Invasion World Event!

Vanguard has intercepted Rikti transmission and deciphered their communication. According to this, the Rikti have scheduled their next invasion waves for the following dates:

• Friday, 31 August 2007
• Wednesday, 05 September 2007
• Wednesday, 12 September 2007

Our intelligence reports state that they have set their invasion to start at or around 10am BST (11:00 CEST) and last for at least 24 hours.

Experts are still arguing why the Rikti leaders have set such a strict schedule but assume that internal power struggles between different Rikti factions might be involved. We advise all Heroes and Villains to be on guard!

According to recent intelligence reports, the united efforts of Heroes and Villains against the Rikti have proven successful. The invading troops have fallen back to regroup and, it is assumed, reorganise their war efforts.

Vanguard representatives state that although the Rikti have stopped their initial efforts to invade the Rogue Isles and Paragon City (along with their attempts to take over other major cities) the danger has not been averted.

“The Rikti may have decided to regroup, but they can attack again any time soon. We still have to be on guard!” says Incandescent, Vanguard’s Head of Communication.

Effective on Tuesday, 07 August 2007, 6pm BST / 19:00 CEST we are turning off the Rikti Invasion World Event. It can still be triggered in a single, random zone through player actions, however. In addition, we are planning on bringing the full-scale Invasion event back on random days throughout August and September, and possibly beyond. Stay alert…
